After recently being given the trend 'urban street' to research on my university course, I noticed a theme of the brand Vetements constantly appearing whenever I was looking for urban street wear online.
Vetements link with the laid back but stylish theme of urban street. There always seems to be a common 'pop of colour' within their clothing items which again matches a theme I have noticed with urban street. Yellow's, reds and blues (primary colours) are the constant colours used whenever the brand wishes to add that 'pop'. Their pieces are comfy but yet are still worn by the likes of the Kardashians so they are still seen as fashionable.
The brand is bold, with many of their pieces being oversized. I have noticed thigh high boots in a range of their runway looks and editorials. The boots seem to pair well with the oversized tops and hoodies the brand sells. The boots are not average thigh highs though, their tends to be a play on fabric or even colour, like the ones seem above, which have a silver metallic theme and they appear to be oversized.
The brand aims it's clothing at younger generations as the marketing the brand uses features younger models. The celebrities seen sporting the brand e.g. Rihanna, Hailey Baldwin etc have all been from younger ages. The brand seems to be based around 'rebellion' which is maybe why it has been aimed at younger audiences due to rebellion being represented with youth.
Even though the clothes are not something I would usually wear, I still think that the designs are witty and smart. I love the play on words and the odd catchy slogan.
